Finding the GCF of 2 Numbers and Of 2 Monomials Carousel Activity:

This document is a carousel activity on finding the GCF (greatest common factor) of 2 Numbers and 2 monomials (numbers with variables!). Upon purchasing you will have 20 question pieces, student recording sheets, and an answer key. Questions 1-10 have 2 numbers. Questions 11-20 have 2 monomials. Questions progressively get more difficult. This activity can easily be broken up so groups of students complete cards 1-10 one day, and cards 11-20 the next day.

There are 20 problems to solve in this activity. A recording sheet and answer key are also included!

To use this activity:
Divide students up into groups of 2-3 students. Assign each group a starting number. (Ex. Group 1 may start at problem 3, group 2 at problem 4, etc….Each group of students will begin at their assigned spot. They will work together to solve the problem on the card, and record their answers on the recording sheet. Set a timer for 2-3 min. Once the timer rings students will rotate (like a carousel) and solve the next problem. Students will continue rotating until they have answered each question.
