□ laminating supplies are suggested, but not required

Instructions for the many games that can be played with this product:

TIC TAC TOE X 9 (a classic game taken to higher level)
Player one uses the game sheet for player 1 and the answer sheet for player 2. Player two uses the game sheet for player 2 and the answer sheet for player 1. This way they can check each other's answers.
DIRECTIONS: Two players take turns choosing a square and completing that problem on their own game sheet. If the answer is correct, the player gets to put an X or an O in the box. If the answer is wrong, nothing goes into the box. However, that player can try that box again on another turn if it is not already taken by the other player. Three X's or three O's in a row wins the game. Player 1 uses game sheet 1 and the answer sheet for game sheet 2. Player 2 uses game sheet 2 and the answer sheet for game sheet 1. Each player checks the answers for the other player.
Each individual game is played and whichever player wins that game gets to place their X or their O over the entire game. Again 3 X's or 3 O's in a row wins the entire match.
Version 1: (easier for younger players) Players play each individual game and whoever gets 3 x’s or 3 in a row on the big board (by winning the smaller games) wins the entire match.
Version 2: (more challenging, requiring more strategy) Players can choose a problem on ANY square on the entire board and play continues until all games have been won or tied. Ties can either count as a win for both players (to give someone a better chance of winning on the larger game or they can count for neither player which makes it more likely that no one wins the larger game).

BOARD GAMES
There are 11 board games with 2 sets of game cards included in this unit, including holiday games boards for Christmas, Halloween, and Valentine's Day.

Player(s) 1 (and 3, if four people are playing): Take set 1 of the game cards and the answers to set 2.
Player(s) 2 (and 4, if four people are playing): Take set 2 of the game cards and the answers to set 1.
Player(s) 1 (and 3) check the answers of player(s) 2 (and 4), and player(s) 2 (and 4) check the answers of player(s) 1 (and 3).

Each player draws a card from their deck and answers the problem on the card, (They will/might need a piece of scrap paper for this). If the answers are correct, players take turns moving on the board. If a player’s answer is incorrect, that player does not move. The first player to reach the finish wins.

CUT AND PASTE ACTIVITY
Cut out the tiles. Then choose one and paste it onto the answer sheet where it says start. Next, solve the problem on the right side and locate the answer from the left side of one of the remaining tiles. Finally, paste that answer tile next to the first tile on the answer sheet. Following the pattern on the handout, keep answering and pasting until all problems are solved. If done correctly, the answer on the first shape should match up with the problem on the last shape.

This game is for two players and uses 3 sets of cards: One set of Game Cards,
a set of You Did It! cards, and a set of Better Luck Next Time cards.
Player 1 takes game cards 1 through 20 plus the
answer key for cards 21-40. Player 2 takes game cards 21 through 40 plus
the answer key for cards 1-20. Each player draws a task card from his/her
set of task cards. At the same time (as their opponent), players work on solving the problem
on their drawn card. (This way, there is less down time for each player). Each player checks the answer of their opponent. Players with correct answers draw a card from the You Did It pile, players with incorrect answers draw a card from the Better Luck Next Time pile.
The winner is the player with the most points after all Game Cards are used or after a predetermined number of rounds.

Straight 7
(This can be played using colored pencils or crayons to mark the spaces. Each player needs to use a diﬀerent color)

Player one takes the cards labeled "SET ONE" and the answers for the cards labeled "SET TWO" and Player two takes the cards labeled "SET TWO" and the answers for the cards labeled "SET ONE". Each player checks the other player's answers.
Both players work on solving the problems on their card at the same time. (This way, there is less down time for each player). Players take turns checking each others answers. If the answer is correct, that player gets to color in one block on the board that contains the card number of that card. (There are two spaces on the board for each card number.)
The ﬁrst player to get 7 blocks in a row wins the game. Also, in addition to trying to get 7 in a row, students may try to block other players from getting 7 in a row. If all cards have been played and no one gets 7 in a row, the game is a tie.

Five Squares
Colored pencils or crayons work best for this game.
Player 1 takes game sheet with numbers 1-40 plus the answer key for numbers 41-80. Player 2 takes game sheet with numbers 41-80 plus the answer key for numbers 1-40. This is so each player can check the other player's answers.
DIRECTIONS: Choose a game board. Larger boards make it easier to get 5 squares in a row. Players take turns drawing a card, reading the question/problem on the card and giving the answer. If the answer is correct, that player gets to color in one square on the board. If the player gets the answer wrong, nothing is done on the board and the next player takes a turn. The first player to get 5 squares in a row wins the game. There are a few “free” spaces on the board(s).

Perseverance
This game is for two players. Player 1 takes SET ONE game cards plus the answer key for SET TWO. Player 2 takes SET TWO game cards plus the answer key for SET ONE. Each player draws a game card from his/her set of game cards. Both players work on solving the problem on their card at the same time . (This way, there is less down time for each player). Each player checks the answer of his/her opponent. Each player with a correct answer gets to draw a line diagonally between two dots anywhere on the game board. One player heads in a horizontal path while the other heads vertically across the board. They cannot cross paths. While trying to block the opponent, the player that draws an uninterrupted bridge from his/her side of the board to the other side wins. (Although players draw and work on their cards at the same time, they need to take turns when drawing lines on the board.

Math Mazes
DIRECTIONS: Beginning at START, follow the path of problems and correct answers until you reach the FINISH.

Task cards can be used for a variety of things. If you Google “Task Cards,” you will find web pages that list
many uses, games, and tasks for them.
For example. they can be:
● used as replacement game cards for popular board games
● placed around the room for students to find and answer
● used as practice for early finishers

For variety, I included 3 different sets of task cards plus answer sheets in this unit. Two sets includes 30 cards and one set includes 40 cards for a grand total of 100 cards.
