Find the percent, part, or whole for 24 problems to find the answer to the joke. Step-by-step answer key included using a "T" where the part is on top, percentage is in the bottom-left (as a decimal), and the whole is in the bottom right (whole comes after the word "of"). This is the easiest way I've been able to teach this concept.
If looking for the part, multiply the percent (as decimal) times the whole. They are next to each other in the T, and when things are next to each other without a written symbol in between, we multiply them.
If you are looking for the percent, you divide the part by the whole. This will give you the percent as a decimal, so either multiply by 100 or move the decimal two places to the right.
If you are looking for the whole, you divide the part by the percent (written in decimal form).
