Description
This nonfiction text structure bundle has everything you need to keep your upper elementary and middle school students engaged as they learn how to determine the themes found in literary works. Some of the activities include test prep elements because theme questions tend to appear frequently on standardized tests. It is designed to teach students how to analyze a reading passage and identify its theme in a way that will keep them engaged. Students love the activities while teachers love the convenience of these no-prep resources that can be used year after year! These theme activities can be used for test prep, review, or introduction of the skill. It includes a PowerPoint, worksheets, task cards, posters, a craftivity, partner plays, and more!

Here's what teachers like you have to say about this bundle:
- Julie M. said, "This is an amazing resource to use teaching theme. The analogy of theme as a creme-filled cupcake is brilliant! The ppt is very colorful and engaging. I love that the ppt companion goes directly with the ppt so the students can interact with the learning. There are so many other components in this bundle that help practice the skill of finding the theme. My students really enjoy this unit!"
- Heather M. said, "This bundle was SUPER helpful in teaching theme--my students understood it better this year than any other year I've taught theme (and that includes my eighth graders)."
- Heather P. said, "Helping students understand and determine the theme of a story can be difficult. Deb Hanson always does an amazing job not only teaching the students but making it engaging. I like how she has practice at the end of the slides. Also, the craftivity and worksheets are a great plus."
- Marissa L. said, "Seriously hit the jackpot with this resource! There are so many different activities for the students that are engaging and easy to assess."
