We know how hard students work all day on reading, writing, math, and more. We also know that fine motor skills are very important, but it can be pushed to the side sometimes. I created these fine motor mats and task cards so students can get extra fine motor practice in a fun, easy way. Students can complete these independently or with a partner (partner work = social skills practice!).
Fine Motor Mats
Students will...
*create the picture using connecting cubes
*trace the word(s)
*use the word(s) in a sentence
*write the word(s) two more times
Task Cards
Students will...
*create the picture
*use the writing paper to write a sentence or story about their creation
Pictures
donkey, cactus, guitar, chili pepper, Mexican flag, salsa, drink, maraca, skull, and sombrero
Students are able to build fine motor skills through manipulating the objects and writing!
Colored, black and white, and outline options
Slip the mats into page protectors or laminate them for durability, so you can use them year after year. The task cards are set up to be copied doubled-sided; however, you can print them single sided. Print the task cards and laminate them for durability. You can put them on a ring or in a small photo box for storage. Covers for photo boxes have been included.
The mats and task cards are great for…
* morning tubs
* centers
* early finishers
* indoor recess
Happy Teaching!
