Pokey Pin Activities are a favorite fine motor skills practice activity for young children. Give students the push pin letter page and send them to the carpet to use those little fine motor skills to "poke" the pin through the design. It is a perfect early finisher activity or literacy center activity! When students complete the activity, they can hold their design up to the light to see the poked design shine through.
These pokey pin pages are each designed with pictures and letters for the entire alphabet. Each image is drawn with a dotted line for the students to follow along with their push pin. No need for them to try to make the design by following a solid line. This is designed perfectly for push pin poking. These pages could also be used as a trace and color page for literacy stations. Or, even better, students could trace, color and THEN poke. That would give students three different opportunities to practice their fine motor skills with each letter of the alphabet.
