Fine Nines is a 2-player game that allows students to practice multiplying numbers by 9. Players roll two dice and decide whether to add or subtract the two numbers. Then they multiply the sum or difference by 9 and cover the product on the game board with their colored counter. Players take turns with the first player covering three connected products in a row or column wins the game. This activity meets or exceeds the Common Core Standards of Mathematics and makes for a great class game or standards-based learning center that allows students to practice the basic facts of multiplication.
