Students will first read about ancient uses for fingerprinting, the more modern history of fingerprinting, as well as notable people and their contributions to the study, leading up to today. They will then briefly learn about modern theories of fingerprint formation during fetal development, followed by researching a few fingerprint developing techniques.
Finally, students will learn about criticisms of fingerprinting, and read about a case where a man was wrongfully identified as a terrorist due to fingerprinting.
