Finish the Drawing: Monsters
Improve visual closure skills with Finish the Monster Drawing.
Sometimes building cognitive skills to improve learning ability can feel like tedious work. Not so with this Art-for-Brains activity to strengthen visual closure skills.
Visual closure skills help students build reading fluency and speed. Students with underdeveloped visual closure skills may struggle to learn sight words. You might also observe that words with similar beginnings and endings lead to confusion and frustration as well.
Halloween is the perfect time to introduce these friendly, ready-to-finish monster drawings. Of course, you may use them to support student learning any time of year, whether your objective is visual closure skill-building or just plain fun!
Finish the Monster Drawing includes:
● Cover Page
● Introduction, including instructions to make this a true visual closure activity plus more details about each additional skill strengthened
● 10 pages of half-finished monster drawings for right handers
● 10 pages of half-finished monster drawings for left handers
● A big thank you from me to you
While well suited for grades 1 and above, the age range for fun here is unlimited!
