Do your students know how to check a smoke alarm or keep their house safe from fire? Want to help your students learn about fire prevention, but think your students may be too old for the typical Fire Prevention Week activities? This Fire Prevention packet is designed for adolescents to teach them the fire safety they should have as adolescents and adults and to allow them to begin practicing the fire safety routines they should practice as adults. Included is a fire safety information sheet in which students must read about fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and write down what they learned about them. Also included is a fire safety investigation sheet which guides students to check the alarms in their house to make sure their homes are safe. Finally, included is a worksheet about escape plans and meeting places that has students talk with their families about meeting places and has them go around their house to make sure they have multiple exits in each room. Aside from teaching I am a firefighter and a former Fire Marshall who specializes in Fire Prevention activities such as these!
