Reviewing fire safety is not just for young children.
Older students can use a refresher as well.
One of the most important things you can drill into their minds is to Stop Drop & Roll.
I made a large laminated flame with a scratchy Velcro dot, which my students take turns wearing on their back, while we practice stopping, dropping and rolling.
I think it’s so important to actually practice and not just learn a rule.
I’ve included a template in the packet.
To further reinforce this important fire safety rule, we make this quick, easy & fun craftivity.
Older students will enjoy a bit of craftiness too, as they complete a writing prompt on the back.
Punch a hole at the top; tie on a yarn loop and dangle from the ceiling.
The packet also includes a Stop Drop Roll song poster.
I often make up songs to fit something I’m trying to teach and reinforce.
This one is to the tune of 3 Blind Mice.
There’s a matching “color me” trace the words worksheet, to help them remember the song.
I’m Diane from Teach With Me, wishing you a happy and safe October.
