Many schools receive a visit from a firefighter or a group of firefighters as part of a fire prevention or fire safety campaign. Often these visitors will bring their own materials, however these materials are not always instructional or age appropriate. They may also fail to bring materials at all. This activity page is designed for these situations.
This page includes two open ended, general writing prompts that the students can use to respond to the visit. This could be used as a stand-alone assignment or this page could be used as the first planning step in a more formal writing assignment. For teacher of older grades or teacher that need to differentiate this activity for advanced writers, another version of this sheet is available that is targeted to 2-4 grade students.
The third page is provided without line as an additional resource. This resource could be used for students who are still drawing sketches or pictures instead of writing words.
