In a First Aid emergency situations, do your students know what to do?
DRSABCD - Danger, Response, Send for Help, Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Defibrillator - has become a well recognised acronym to help first responders deal with emergency situations. It can be used for First Aid situations at home, in the playground, or in the community.
This resource includes information pages about First Aid and DRSABCD as well as task cards to encourage student problem solving and discussion. The set of task cards encourages students to take a simple, structured problem solving approach to providing first aid to others whilst also keeping themselves and others safe. The scenarios are realistic and designed to be achievable and success oriented for students using the DRSABCD approach.
The task cards can be printed placed at stations around the room or shared as part of a small group discussion in Health, PE or First Aid class.
The information pages can be shared with students as a resource to help them remember DRSABCD.
The resource includes 10 pages of information and multiple scenarios for students to work through in pairs or small groups.
