Learning outcomes:
Student will learn how and when to use 911
Student will be able to recognize Anaphylaxis and severe allergic reactions and what to do.
Student will be able to understand loss of consciousness and coma-the causes and what to do if it occurs
Student will be able to discern what to do when an individual is confused and what can cause a sudden onset of confusion
Student will learn what to do in case of dizziness, and what causes dizziness
Student will be able to discern what to look for if it appears someone has had a drug overdose. Details are given on the signs of possible drug overdose.
Student will be able to recognize signs and symptoms of a heart attack and what to do in case of a heart attack.
Student will be able to tell the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Signs and symptoms are explained and directions given on how to handle the issue.
Student will be able to understand how and why shortness of breath occurs and what to do in case the issue arises.
Students will learn Diabetes and hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). symptoms, how to address it and how to get aid or help
Students will understand what to do in case of a bloody nose, broken bone, and how to treat minor burns.
Students will be able to identify what to do in case of fire
