First Day Jitters: First Grade Emotions / Back to School Jitters
The first day can be overwhelming for everyone! Have your students circle what emotion they are feeling (happy, excited, nervous, sad) and draw a self-portrait. Later reflect on everyone's talented art and discuss how it is normal to feel those emotions, and that together the whole class will have a fantastic school year! This is also a wonderful tool to help evaluate your student's comfort levels and the information can later be used to create a buddy system!
► NO PREP!
► Instruct your students to circle the emotion they are feeling at the bottom of their page. Then have them draw their self-portraits in the space provided!
► First Day Keepsakes
► Emergency Sub Plans
