This is your show stopper lesson for the first day of French class! Get up and get moving with this dynamic TPR lesson for basic classroom commands that will allow even students with zero French knowledge to function in the target language over 90% of the time in your classroom within the first few days of school.
This lesson is designed for the secondary classroom (6-12+) and teaches 20 of the most frequently used classroom commands, but could easily be adapted for the primary classroom.
The lesson includes the following:
-4 pages of detailed teacher procedures
-4 input activities with student handouts (reading/listening) with one available to view in preview
-3 output activities with student handouts (speaking/writing) with two available to view in preview
-instructions on teaching the traditional song, "Frère Jacques"
-detailed instructions for the game, "Jacques a dit" (Simon says)
Your students will amaze themselves with what they will be able to do by the end of this lesson! This is a great way to set the tone for your classroom and create an immersion experience from day 1. This is the first of seven lessons that make up the first unit that I do with my French I classes that takes about 2.5 to 3 weeks on block scheduling.
Don't forget to download the free printable vocabulary cards that go with this lesson!
As with all of my products, this lesson is classroom tested!:)
