First day of school picture template - print out your child's grades and take a picture of your child holding the picture on the first day of school. I put the paper in a frame for added durability. By the time your child graduates high school, you have a great collection of first day of school pictures (and it's so simple and low prep)
First Day of School Questionnaire - ask your child the questions, record the answers, attach their first day of school picture at the bottom, makes for a great keepsake. Questions include things like Favorite song, Favorite color, Favorite thing to do with Mommy (you can adapt the questions as the child gets older).
My Picture & Name Page - have your child draw a picture of themselves and sign their name. It's a great keepsake and it's a wonderful way to show their progress over the years. You can also give this "assessment" throughout the year to check their progress in drawing and writing their name.
School Bus Worksheets - write numbers and the alphabet on dot stickers and have your child place the stickers on the matching circle. Fun to do as just a first day of school activity but you can also use it as an informal pre-reading assessment.
These materials are great for parents whether you do home school, private, or public school. Besides excellent memory making materials for children of all ages, there are activity worksheets that will be fun for preschoolers or kindergartners getting excited about the start of the school year.
