This five-page First Day Creativity (English Version) will help you build a classroom community on Day One.
Have you scrabbled on the first day of school to get all of the supplies sorted? I sure have! We have to go over so many things in the first few weeks of school, but there also needs to be built in time during those first days to arrange supplies and the students in the way that works best for us. Why not try something different this year?
*Updated for 2020-2021 School Year.* This craftivity is updated yearly, so you aren't just buying it for this year!
This craftivity was designed with you in mind! The kids can stay busy while drawing their pictures in each of the three boxes. They will need to color the owls or the apples (whichever you decide to use). If you use white paper to copy the pencil on, they will need to color that too!
Then, students will cut along the outside of the pencil and the rectangular boxes I added so the students have a guide for cutting (which is very important for our little ones!)
Finally, they will glue their pictures on 1 ½” strip(s) of construction paper which can be cut in advance using the pencil as the header.
In addition to keeping the students engaged, this will be a cute project that they can see on a bulletin board or take home to share with their family to start a conversation about their school year! You can even add a magnet to the back, if you desire!
