This is a fun activity for your students to do on on the first day or first week of school. It will allow you and the rest of the class to learn more about students in the class. Students will love how the colors and items used on their glyphs depend on information about them as individuals.
After students finish making the glyphs, have partners stand in front of the class with their set of directions and the “First Day of School” glyph. Instruct each partner to share 3 things they learned about the other person simply by looking at their partner’s glyph. This is a great way for students to practice public speaking. It also allows others in the class to learn about each student as an individual.
What is included in your download:
*A set of directions for students (2 pages)
*A Personalized Day Glyph
