This 4-page document is great for a quick review or refresher of the literary elements and examples of them in a short story. The basis of the game is that the teacher and the students will read a short story, students are welcome to take notes, and then with a partner, the students will list as many correct examples of literary elements as they can. In my class, the group who wins is rewarded with a packet of gum. The four pages of the document include a directions page for the teacher, two different short stories to chose from (which means that you can repeat the activity at least 2 times with the same class), and the graphic organizer for the game. Please note that this document does not teach literary elements, explain how to teach literary elements, explain the answers or how to score the game, or come with a word bank. Thanks for your interest.
