Product Description
REBT, CBT, WDEP, STEM curriculums, peer pressure, and the skills your scholars need to learn have one fabulous thing in common...cause and effect! This resource is perfect for use by school counselors or classroom teachers.

This 15 minute lesson uses dominos to make the concept of cause and effect tactile and real. Individual scholars or small groups build small domino structures. Or not. Maybe they stack those dominos on the pencil sharpener, or trade them with another scholar for chocolate. The funny thing about dominos (and choices, and life) is that no matter what, the first domino impacts the others in a chain reaction.

Trade your dominos? You don't have any now for the rest of class, but you might have chocolate! What's the pros and cons of that? How do you use forcefield analysis to know? Build a domino design but the first domino doesn't knock the second down? Well, what can you do different next time for a different result? Every choice we make impacts our lives...But only making helpful, positive choices gives us our best chance!

You can build on the scaffolding of this lesson to emphasize REBT, WDEP, CBT, goal setting, resilience, peer pressure, or grace & grit, and you can meet your scholars exactly where they're at. Two birds, one stone!

Aligns with ASCA National Model Standards for Students A:A2.2-3, A:B2.5-6, C:A2.1, PS:A1,8, and PS:C1.11.

*This lesson can be purchased as part of a unit. See my store front for the 15 minute classroom guidance lessons unit.*
