This activity set is versatile, student centered, Common Core and interactive. First, students read one page president readings that cover domestic and foreign policy for Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe. Then, students conduct a class talk show style interview with one of the Presidents (task cards included).The class fills out a graphic organizer with key points during presentations.
This activity is completely versatile with separate graphic organizers that can be used if the teacher would rather have students read about each president and fill out key main ideas from the readings. Furthermore, in another Common Core writing option template students gather information from the readings that supports a provided thesis statement.
