It's tough to get Math Workshop up and running in a first grade classroom! You'll have a faster and smoother start when you begin with games in a format that your students already know!
Your students love four-in-a-row games, and because most of your class has probably already played games of this type, you'll spend less time introducing your center activities or explaining directions again and again.
Using these games at the beginning of first grade, your students will review and practice addition using just the one page easy prep board games (no cards!), dice, and a penny. It's your option to have your students use either erasable markers or tokens to mark the spaces on their boards.
For your convenience, all ten games are included in both color and blackline formats.
Here are the games included in this set:
* Roll two dice, cover the sum
* Roll two dice, cover the number that's one more
* Roll two dice, cover the number that's one less than the sum
* Roll one die, double it and cover the number
Penny Flip Games
* Sums of 5-10 (a separate game for each number): Heads, cover combinations that equal the number / Tails, cover combinations that don't equal the number.
These games are great to start off your year. Because the graphics are generic rather than seasonal, they can be used whenever your school year starts, for year-round school programs, or for review throughout the year!
You can also use these four-in-a-row math games for math tubs, game days, classroom volunteers, Fun Fridays, and Family Math Night.
Thanks for your interest in these games!
