We will study as follows.
We will incorporate non-fiction stories into shared reading, read alouds, and science for 2 days on ocean animals. We will repeat the next 2 days on freshwater animals. The fifth day is a flex day to allow students to further research, complete their writing or compare contrast the two habitats. Being there 6 habitats we will study; this animal unit will take 3 weeks to complete. Each student will have a book pre-made ahead of time. The front/back cover will be laminated and bound with empty table of contents, writing pages, and glossary. We will work as a class to gather the appropriate information and compose our book during writing instruction.
