Addition & Subtraction Facts Clip Game (0-10): Children read the addition or subtraction number sentence and find the answer to the sentence. Children place a paper clip or clothespin to the correct answer of the number sentence. You can separate the game cards in sets from 0-5 and sets from 6-10. Note: Put a little sticker on the back of the card in the correct answer space so students can self-correct their answers.

Ten Frame Roll and Cover: The student chooses a side of the game card to play and who will roll first. Roll one dice and count your dots. Place that many counters on your ten frames. Continue taking turns rolling and placing your counters. The first person who covers both their ten frames wins!

Slide Addition & Subtraction Games: Addition: Begin at start position on board with your marker (any manipulative will work that fits that space) and take turns rolling one dice with a partner. Move or add the number on the dice and begin to slide down the board toward number 20 as turns are taken. First-person to get to the finish line wins! Subtraction: Begin at start position on board with your marker (any manipulative will work that fits that space and take turns rolling one dice with a partner. Move or subtract the number on the dice and begin to slide up the board toward number 1 as turns are taken. First-person to get to the finish line wins!

Roll & Bump 2 & 3 Addend Addition Games: Two Dice: Roll two dice and add those numbers. Cover that space with your marker. You can bump your partner’s color and take their space! If you cover a space with two markers stacked on top of each other, you lock that space and can’t be bumped. The player to use all ten of their markers first is the winner! Three Dice: Roll three number cubes and add those numbers. Cover that space with your marker. You can bump your partner’s color and take their space! If you cover a space with two markers stacked on top of each other, you lock that space and can’t be bumped.

5 In A Row 2 & 3 Addend Addition: Two Addends: Children roll 2 dice and cover the sum. If the sum is not open, it is their partner's turn. The person who covers 5 in a row first wins! The picture in the middle is a free space! Three Addends: Children roll 3 dice and cover the sum. If the sum is not open, it is their partner's turn. The person who covers 5 in a row first wins! The picture in the middle is a free space!

Missing Number Clip Game: Children place a paper clip or clothespin to the correct answer of what numeral is missing in the series of three numbers. Note: Put a little sticker on the back of the card in the correct answer space so students can easily self-correct.

Greater Than, Less Than or Equal Clip Game: Children place a paper clip or clothespin to the correct answer of which symbol: greater than, less than or equal to is correct. Students will compare numbers from 0-100. Note: Put a little sticker on the back of the card in the correct answer space so students can self-correct their answers.

Ten More, Ten Less, One More & One Less Clip Game: Children look at the t-chart and find the pictured item with the missing number. Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).
Understand subtraction as an unknown-addend problem. For example, subtract 10 – 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20, e.g., by using objects, drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
