Children will have a blast writing informational reports about animals that call the zoo, farm, arctic, or ocean their home! Each animal has 10 pages for students to write about. The 10 pages are the same for each animal so your students can choose which animal they'd like to research, while allowing you to explain the format of each page to the entire class! Perfect for your unit on animals.

-Diagram page for each animal
-Glossary page for each animal
-3 Versions {for differentiation} of facts pages for each animal

This set includes the following animals:

ZOO: alligator, bear, elephant, giraffe, gorilla, hippo, lion, monkey, rhino, snake, tiger, and zebra.

FARM: pig, goat, chicken, horse, cow, sheep, cat, dog, and duck

OCEAN: fish, clam, dolphin, crab, jellyfish, octopus, ray, seahorse, shark, starfish, turtle, whale, coral, lobsters, manatee, sand dollars, sea urchins, squid, and shrimp

ARCTIC: arctic fox, arctic hare, caribou, orca/killer whale, snowy owl, polar bear, arctic puffin, sea lion, seal, walrus, and wolf.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.1.1 Participate in collaborative conversations with diverse partners about grade level topics and texts with peers and adults in small and larger groups.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.1.1a Follow agreed-upon rules for discussions (e.g., listening to others with care, speaking one at a time about the topics and texts under discussion).

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.1.1b Build on others’ talk in conversations by responding to the comments of others through multiple exchanges.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.1.1c Ask questions to clear up any confusion about the topics and texts under discussion.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.1.2 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text read aloud or information presented orally or through other media.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.1.3 Ask and answer questions about what a speaker says in order to gather additional information or clarify something that is not understood.
