First Grade Journeys Sight Word Game
I recommend you copy these pages on cardstock or construction paper and laminate them so they may be reused. I usually have 3 to 5 students at a center so I copied 5 pages for each lesson (one for each student at the group). I change these out each week at my “Word Work Center" to go along with our Journeys basal reader. I write the sight words on a dry erase dice or spinner. One student will roll the dice or spin the spinner. They must say the word they land on. If they say the word correctly, they may put a marker (2-color counter, Unifix cube, etc.) on that word. The student that reaches the top of one of their columns first, wins! So simple, but my students love it! By the end of the week they definitely know their sight words.
