These are the first 4 books of the Language Practice books I am making to review all of the First Grade Language Common Core Standards throughout the school year. I do one book a week, so 4 books is a month’s worth in my class. The books each have 7 “mini-pages” and a cover, which are copied on 2 sheets of paper.
The Standard is listed at the top of each page in the mini-book the students will make as they practice the Language skills. Each page has a short activity the student will do on the page to practice that skill. This is a quick way to see who understands the concepts and who needs extra help.
These 4 books cover these Standards:
L.1.1 (a) Print upper and lowercase letters
L.1.1 (b) Common and Proper Nouns
L.1.2 (a) Capitalize dates and names of people
L,1,2 (b) Use end punctuation
The difficulty of the books will increase as the year goes on (or the number of the books). Throughout the year, the students will review previous skills so they don’t forget them.
