Need morning work for your students that is consistent, covers a variety of subject areas, builds on itself, and keeps your students busy so that you can take care of attendance, money, etc.? That is what I had in mind when I made this pack.
The primary focus of the math portion is number sense and math fact fluency. This is very much in-line with the common core.
Included is four weeks worth of morning work for each month, except for December which only has two. Each week includes five days of morning work.
Tips on how to get this up and running in your classroom
August - 20 sheets
September -20 sheets
October- 20 sheets
November- 20 sheets
December- 10 sheets (2 weeks)
90 sheets total
Each day, your students will have the opportunity to...
1) Write a morning message which is dictated by you (great chance for letter, grammar, sight word practice- more tips on how to use this in the pack).
2) Count and write numbers. They will do missing numbers, addition/facts, and counting with base ten blocks daily. This is meant to build their number sense and fact fluency.
3) Color a simple picture.
-That the language portion of the morning work is 100% customizable. You write the morning message on the board and they write it in the space provided.
-The work is consistent. Once your students get the hang of it they'll know what to do and you can take care of morning duties.
-The math portion correlates with the common core.
-The work builds on itself and slowly increases in difficulty throughout the year.
Take a look at the sample to see the overview, tips for success, and one week's worth of morning work.
