The driving force of my lesson planning and sequencing is all those curricular concepts and observable skills we post each and every day for our students to get focused and energized about music lessons. This COMPLETE set of First Grade Music Learning Targets are your “I Can” Statements for the entire year!!

This set has over 100 pages with targets for 15 different skills in the first grade elementary music classroom. Take a peek at which will work best for you, print (in vivid color or beautiful black & white) the ones most applicable to your sequence, laminate and keep on a binder ring at the front of your room and press play on your magical lesson.

This set is bigger and better than ever and includes everything you need to get your kiddos focused on your learning target for the day:

**Teacher Talk With Anne - Explanations and ideas for implementation that have proven successful time and again in the first grade music classroom. Learn exactly how I use this set and what I expect from my students when it comes to knowing their lesson focus for the day.

**Concept Index - A list of all 15 concepts and the different modes of music making and observable skills you could include in your lesson segments. Take the guesswork out of what the sequencing should look like, I’ve got you covered.

**Concepts for first grade: quarter note & two eighth notes*, high & low, melodic contour, steady beat & rhythm, strong & weak beats, duple meter, quarter rest, musical ideas, repeat sign, rhythmic obstinate, "so-mi", “la", long & short sounds, tie, half note, and "do.”
(*PSST - there’s no rhythm syllables included with this set, so these targets will work no matter what you call quarter note & two eighth notes!)

**Observable skills such as: identify, sing, clap, show, read, write, improvise, and compose. All are included so you can pick the target that matches your students’ growth and progress!

**Differentiated posters for each concept so you can choose the most accessible images and symbols for your students’ success.

This is the perfect set of targets for a purposeful teacher who wants to bring smiles to her students’ faces… even by reading their I can statement for the day!!
