We are Story Tellers! This is the first unit in a series of monthly units that will introduce writers’ workshop to your students. In this unit students will learn how to write stories from their lives. It is inspired by Lucy Calkin's small moments writing. This unit will help establish writing behaviors, routines and expectations. Students will learn a variety of strategies that will help them be prolific writers such as how to plan their stories, spell and write for longer and longer. The charts are aligned to the National Common Core Standards and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Choose from 15 anchor charts for your class. The charts are differentiated for English-language learners, at-risk students and students with special needs. Show charts on your SmartBoard, make class set copies to put in student's writing folder, or draw an identical one on a big chart paper.
