As part of this 4-week unit, students will create opinion (persuasive) pieces about their favorite things, a class book about the best places in their community, and book reviews/recommendations.

These lessons are designed to be taught toward the middle of the year but can be used anytime you want to teach students how to write opinion pieces.

In this first grade writing unit, students will learn how to:

- Plan and write pieces to share their opinion a topic

- Give multiple reasons to support their opinion
