Description

Practice applying student knowledge of place value to solve real life problems with this journal! 15 word problems can be made into a booklet or journal for your students. A consistent template helps students to build understanding as they solve. This makes for a great whole group math warm up, or wrap up activity, or can even be used as a math center.

These word problem templates include a cover (if you want to print them as a journal packet), or they can be used individually.

Topics include:

*tens and ones

**adding more to regroup

*comparing numbers

*adding tens

These problems are written for first graders and they are meant to be challenging, so they may be useful with some second graders. Please see samples in the preview.

This resource also includes sample responses (sort of like an answer key)
