My students are big fans of this game and I know your students will be too! Take a new approach to practicing sight word recognition in small groups with the "Cheesy Challenge" sight word game. The directions to the game are as follows:
-Students take turns reading the sight words.
-Students keep the sight word cards that are read correctly.
-Cards that are not read correctly get passed on to the next student for him or her to read.
-Students who receive a "nibble on some cheese" card get the card for free (without reading a word).
-Students who receive a "hungry cat" card must return all their cards and start over.
-The student with the most cards at the end of the game (when all cards are gone) is the winner!
