This pack contains word lists for students to use as an accompanying learning resource each week for Reading Wonders. Each page has 10 words in large, easy to read font and the Unit and Week are labeled on the side for easy filing for the teacher! Each week contains at least 2 word lists to help improve students' reading fluency.
How I use these:
I primarily use these lists in reading small groups. I distribute a list to each student at the very beginning of small group to help my students warm up and review the phonics skills we are learning that week, before they read them in connected text. You can read them together the first day, have students read them independently the next day, or even let students use them to practice spelling/writing. They are a wonderful intervention tool because they help teachers focus on explicitly teaching phonics skills to students. They are also a great formative assessment tool because you can listen to students read and find out which students are experiencing misconceptions.
