PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

It's January! That means back to school, New Years, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, penguins, and snow!

Children will practice correcting the errors in the holiday-themed sentences, illustrating a picture to match, and peer-checking their work with a buddy. Sentences are fairly simple for students to decode, with lots of sight words. This set includes 23 pages. Students complete one each day to meet the new Common Core Language Standards, which states:

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.2 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.2a Capitalize dates and names of people.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.2b Use end punctuation for sentences.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.1.2c Use commas in dates and to separate single words in a series.
