This is complete and ready for the 2015-2016 school year and is COMPLETELY EDITABLE!!! The thumbnail images appear to be different than the actual downloadable version, so please be sure to check out the PREVIEW. There are some slight differences between the preview and the actual document. The main difference is the font. I had to make the font in this document Comic Sans, where the other font I had used in the preview was one I had downloaded (I used the same preview I had used for my other calendar journal that is not editable). This document is in Microsoft Word 2010. BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE FEEDBACK LEFT.
After years of doing calendar and it becoming so monotonous or too much preparation, I wanted to have something where students would actually learn something and not just go through the motions day in and day out and also save me from having to prepare so much for each individual student. I have taken different ideas from different calendar journals I have found through searching online, and I have created my own. My version changes each month. It starts out basic and progresses, and many items build upon the previous month, a spiraling effect. At the beginning of each month, I go over explicitly with the students the new journal page. I release some of that to them, but there are certain components I am adamant about going over with them. To prepare, I just run enough copies for each student for the month. To save paper, I run my pages front and back. Ours are kept in a binder, and I only put in the pages for that month. I project mine up on my Smartboard and fill it out with them.
You can use as much or as little of the product as you like. It provides a lot of flexibility.
Here's what you get:
-Many common core skills (and some beyond) on each calendar page for the year
-Good practice for Ohio Diagnostic (especially May)
-Detailed descriptions of how to complete each month's page
-Boy and Girl cover pages
Please let me know (email/message me) if you have any problems opening it, editing it, or if there are any serious distortions. It is in Microsoft Word 2010. Please contact me with any questions. I've tried to be as thorough as possible.
