What educators are saying

This resource has been invaluable while teaching first grade writing. The mini-lessons, writing paper, and guidance have been part of my instruction for 5+ years!
I really like the monthly calendar of writing ideas, the coloured posters, anchor chart ideas, and how simply each lesson of writing was broken down.

Description

This first grade Common Core aligned writing unit contains 49 mini-lessons to help your students become successful writers! This unit starts your students off writing and learning very simple concepts. The unit slowly builds them up to writing much harder pieces such as Opinion, Informative, and Narrative writing. I use this unit over the course of the entire school year. Some mini-lessons may take only a day to teach and practice while others may take weeks. This unit allows you to work at the pace of your students! Many of the mini-lessons also include read aloud book suggestions that go with the concept being taught. Also, many of the mini-lessons contain PRINTABLE activities, posters, anchor charts, worksheet practice pages, writing prompt pages, writing outlines and much, MUCH MORE!
