First Nations Canadian History Storytelling Poster Reconciliation Orange Shirt Day

Native Americans, Canadian History, Graphic Organizer, Intro to Residential Schools and Reconciliation,

*Some crossover with my other Orange Shirt Day Residential School Packages and the Intermediate Package, 3 Part Lesson Plans*

(FNMI) First Nations, Metis, Inuit Studies -

This is an intro to Medicine Wheel Framework and Residential Schools Time Line

Perfect to set the context for Orange Shirt Day and move towards truth and reconciliation for First Nations Peoples and those who were affected by, and continue to be affected by Canadian Government instituted Residential Schools and the legacy or cultural genocide, abuse and death.

It is a time to acknowledge the abuse and cultural genocide suffered by the First Nations' children in residential schools.

This package includes:

- Listen with 3 Ears Poster

- Background Information Reading on The significance of oral storytelling to FNMI culture

Ontario Educators recognize this day and hopes to see all schools wear their orange shirt in support of the First Nation Peoples. Canadian History and First Nations Narratives are essential to the understanding of our history as treaty partners.
