This bundle includes all of the interactive read aloud products that I have created for books featuring FNMI characters! As an added bonus, if I create more FNMI Interactive Read Alouds, they will be added to this bundle and you will be able to get the new ones for FREE!

Updated September 2018: I have added the Interactive Read Aloud for "When We Were Alone" to this bundle.

At this time, I plan to add at least 1 more product by July 2019. For a total of at least 5 interactive read alouds.

These interactive read alouds will be a fantastic addition to your Reader’s Workshop. The books facilitate great discussion and are a good way to introduce students to residential schools as well as FNMI cultures. Students are able to relate to characters in a book so much more than little paragraphs in a textbook. Therefore, reading stories about residential schools and FNMI cultures helps to build empathy and understanding in our students. Furthermore, the illustrations in these books are quite captivating and will help your English Language Learners to develop a more complete understanding of this Social Studies concept.

What is Included?

• Interactive Read Aloud Prompts in two formats- sticky notes and full pages (Prompts include structures such as: Turn and Talk, Stop and Jot, Stop and Sketch, Think Aloud, Setting a Purpose for Reading, etc.)

• Ideas for activities for Before, During and After reading.

• Reading Response Activities

These lessons works fabulously within a Reading Workshop framework or simply as a way to study the concept of Residential Schools with students.
