written by Robbie Robertson and illustrated by David Shannon, explores First Nations’, (Native American) Literature with reading comprehension strategies.
With these units, students will explore incredibly rich stories with reading strategies such as visualization, connection, questioning, predicting and summarizing.
Easy to use reading response pages have been created for each lesson; as well as student evaluation and teacher assessment rubrics for each page.
Included is a First Nations’ Legends Passport, lined and interlined versions, with an assessment rubric. The passport can be used to record each legend the students read. It can be done as a class, or separately as an independent reading log to support your First Nations focus.
