Help your students master first quadrant graphing with these LEVELED match-up cards that make differentiation easy! A recording sheet and an answer sheet are included for student accountability. It works especially well in math centers or small groups and is great for independent or partner practice.

The cards are color coded and labeled level 1, 2, or 3 to meet your students' needs whether they are on-, below-, or above-level as follows:

Level 1 - Match a single point with its coordinates
Level 2 - Identify the distance between 2 given points
Level 3 - Word problems that require students to locate two points and calculate the distance between them

*36 Cards (color and black and white version)
*Each card can be printed with a labeled back for easy organization.
*Student Recording Sheet and Answer Key included
*Student Directions Sheet included
*Works great in centers/small groups.

*We recommend printing on card stock and laminating for years of use!
*We have found in our classrooms that it is best to store this game in a 3-prong pocket folder. Place the directions and answer sheets in sheet protectors inside the folder and store the cards in baggies in the pocket. The cover sheet makes a great label for the front of the folder.

Common Core Standards Covered

5.G.A.1
Use a pair of perpendicular number lines, called axes, to define a coordinate system, with the intersection of the lines (the origin) arranged to coincide with the 0 on each line and a given point in the plane located by using an ordered pair of numbers, called its coordinates. Understand that the first number indicates how far to travel from the origin in the direction of one axis, and the second number indicates how far to travel in the direction of the second axis, with the convention that the names of the two axes and the coordinates correspond (e.g., x-axis and x-coordinate, y-axis and y-coordinate).

5.G.A.2
Represent real world and mathematical problems by graphing points in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane, and interpret coordinate values of points in the context of the situation.
