This is a "write the room" activity: students go to designated locations, find the picture that starts with /s/ or /p/, and record by writing the letter for the first sound. Depending on their level, students can trace or write the first sound, trace or write a sentence to tell what they see, or write a sentence about the picture.
It's a growing station that gets more challenging based on skills learned and your students' levels. My favorite part of this activity is that I don't have to spend a lot of time with directions once they have the routine down.
Includes the pictures I use for the activity, 6 differentiated recording sheets, and black and white pictures to cut and paste instead of draw if that is your preference for your students.
