Product Description
Use my product to help students write an informational essay about the first Thanksgiving! It is Common Core and TN Ready aligned for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Have students read the two texts I wrote about the first Thanksgiving. Then have them respond to the writing prompt using one of my graphic organizers (I included one for helping students write 1 paragraph and another one for helping students write 5 paragraphs). Differentiate by utilizing the 1 paragraph model for students who aren't able to write 5 paragraphs. Grade them using the included Rubric. Display them using the cute turkey-themed stationery.

Included:
1. Text 1: I wrote this text to give students some general information about the history of the first Thanksgiving.
2. Text 2: I wrote this text to narrow in on more of the specifics of Thanksgiving history.
3. Prompt and Tips: This is the writing prompt and a list of "tips" that students should follow to write their best essays. The tips will help them meet the expectations on the rubric that you will use to grade their essays.
4. Graphic Organizers: Help students visualize the components of an informational essay. Version A will help students write 1 paragraph. Version B will help students write 5 paragraphs.
5. Exemplars: Use my examples to show students what you expect. Version A shows an example of 1 paragraph. Version B shows an example of 5 paragraphs.
6. Stationery: Lined paper with a black and white turkey that kids can color and lined paper with no graphic.
7. Rubric: Grade students' writing using my Common Core aligned rubrics. Version A is for 1 paragraph, and Version B is for 5 paragraphs.
8. Standards: All of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Common Core/ Tennessee TN Ready state standards are listed for you.
