Grandparents are an important part of a child’s life and often children do not really know a lot of personal information about these very important people. This activity gives the student the opportunity to get to know their grandparent or special person a little bit better through asking interview questions and completing a family tree. The interview questions are used to gather information to write their grandparent’s biography.
Grandparent’s Day is celebrated the first Sunday after Labor Day. This package contains many printable worksheets for your students to work on. It also contains a reading list with a grandparent theme and alternate worksheets for the student(s) with no grandparent to interview. There are also suggestions for ways that your students can celebrate Grandparent’s Day.
The worksheets have been successfully used with my Literacy students and the finished cereal boxes have made a wonderful Open House display.
