Product Description
Romero Britto Owls Art History Game: Get your students excited about learning art history with this Romero Britto Pop Art activity for creating an owl. Fill up your art sub plan folder with no-prep, fuss-free art projects that are easy to implement for substitute teachers. Great for art integration in the regular classroom and homeschooling parents supplementing art instruction the first week of school. Art teachers wanting to liven up their art lessons with a game will love them, too.

★★★You Will Receive:★★★
• 1 Zip file containing a 3-page non-editable PDF and terms of use document
• Page 1: Dice game
• Page 2: Step-by-step picture tutorial and directions
• Page 3: Tracer

Simply print out the game the first week of school and picture directions back-to-back, give them dice, and watch them have fun creating their own Pop Art owl.

Game Directions:
You will design a Britto-style owl by rolling the die and collecting the different patterns required to create it. First, either draw your own owl or trace the owl tracer onto another sheet of heavy white drawing paper. Next, draw no more than 10 lines across the page to break up the background and owl into smaller shapes. Next, roll the die to select the first pattern from the first column and draw it in one of the areas of the areas on either the owl or the background. Roll the die four more times, drawing each selected pattern in one of the other areas. Repeat the same 5 patterns until you have filled up most of the areas you’ve created. Using washable markers, outline everything and fill it in neatly. Be color smart. Color one pattern in using light and dark values of the same hue. For example, a dark green background with light green polka dots. Or use analagous (”neighbor”) colors such as a pattern of orange and yellow stripes. Lastly, outline all the major areas of the design and the lines you added to it using a black marker.
