To help children transition between activities or motivate them to complete with a non-preferred activity. If it's an extremely non-preferred activity, I'd recommend using them along with a two minute sand timer from the dollar tree, to let the child visualize how long they have to do the non-preferrred activity (which should always be first in the list) before they can get their preferred activity.
You cut out the board, and then cut out the individual pictures. Put velcro on the backs of each, and velcro on the board, too. Then you can quickly show a child in a visual way what they have to do first, and what they can get next, and change it by task.
