Product Description
Time to learn all about FISH! This pack contains posters (color and black & white) and interactive notebook pages (these can be used in a mini-book as well), as well as a fish report format and a live fish lab.

Students will learn:

What is a fish?
Part of a Fish
Three Classes of Fish
Unusual Fact about Fish
Research any Type of Fish for Report

We use this pack as we study the different Animal Classifications. We spend a week on each classification.

Materials Needed:
- scissors - glue sticks - crayons/markers
- live fish (feeder fish work well) – straws
- food coloring - computers (for research)
- 12 x 18 colored construction paper

I use the posters to make a bulletin board display of information. I also copy the information posters about each of the three classes of fish for each table to share. Around these posters we hang the students’ fish reports.

Day 1 - What is a Fish? Notebook page
There is also a great Eyewitness video on fish (30 min.) on youtube the
kids can watch.

Day 2 - Parts of a Fish Notebook page
Live Fish Lab (optional)

Day 3 - Three Classes of Fish Notebook Page
Choose a type of fish and begin researching it for the report sections.

Day 4 - Unusual Facts about Fish Notebook Page & research
Continue working on reports.

Day 5 - Finish reports and illustrations.

You can do the activities in any order that works for your classroom. We spend about 45-50 minutes a day on science.

Stay tuned for Animal Classifications packs on all of the different groups!
