Fishing for Words II is a game to assist primary students in learning their Primer Dolch words or high frequency words.
Now, in color OR black and white.
To "fish" for a word, place all the fish in a bowl or other container and allow a student to move his or her hand around to grab a fish. Young children really enjoy the idea of fishing for their words. Once the student catches a fish he or she reads the word out loud. You, another adult, or their peers make sure the student is correct.
This is a terrific game for one-on-one assistance, small groups, or literacy centers. I have seen several students enjoy this game and quickly begin to retain the words.
