PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

"Five Chairs" is a short play (or scene) designed for 5 actors of any gender--so cast it the way you need. It is written in a Dada-like style, although not technically strict Dada. "Five Chairs" has worked well for introducing students to more non-realistic styles. It is something that they can understand (although the audience might not--per the Dada-like influence) as a different style from the normal scenes/short plays they are going to be more familiar with.

"Five Chairs" has been previously produced with high school students and Acting I college students, but might work all the way down to advanced middle-schoolers, if you are willing to explain Dada and other non-realistic styles.

"Five Chairs" runs approximately 7 minutes.
